Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. Replace. Reinvent.
Less Environment Impact Throughout Logistics Life Cycle
Axios is an environmentally active company that focuses on green technologies in both its processes and products, notably its bio-based pallet and integrated logistics system that reduces carbon footprint and increases energy efficiency.
Axios bio-based pallets are a natural alternative to other products available to the logistics marketplace. With a minimun lifespan of 10-12 years under normal usage, they are cost comparable to plastic pallets. Unlike plastic pallets made of HDPE, Axios pallets include no deca bromine/decaBDE or added materials that are reliant on fossil fuels. In addition, Axios pallets are FDA compliant, making them unique solution for the pharmaceutical, and food and beverage industries.
Axios pallets are clean, and have no scrap value, which can prevent loss while idled. In addition, they can be reground at the end of life; and a percentage of regrind can be used in the manufacturing of new pallets. Axios’ cradle-to-cradle solution is another key differentiator in the Axios Solution.
In addition, the chemistry the Axios pallet is built upon offers a more sustainable solution than current options available in the logistics market. Recent concerns over cleanliness and contamination due to high levels of deca bromine/decaBDE being used, as well as the moisture gain, and resultant weight gain inherent in wood pallets can be alleviated with the Axios solution, which doesn’t allow for absorption, and doesn’t emit harmful chemicals during the logistics handling process.
Using Axios pallets also allows companies to leverage the bundled platform solution to outline greenhouse gas reduction and assists users in meeting their carbon footprint objectives. In addition, customers can utilize Axios “green” properties in their own sustainability practices and messaging. Lastly, a definitive return on investment can be achieved by allowing users operational efficiencies including carbon credit monetization and a reduced lifecycle cost, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and contributes significantly to helping companies reduce their overall carbon footprint.

Natural and renewable material
Axios pallets are manufactured using bio-based resin, and therefore are not dependent on fossil-fuel based products, like high density polyethylene (HDPE). Unlike wood, bio-based resin also is rapidly renewable. Our crop based bio fuel, unlike wood doesn’t take 20 years to replenish itself and at the end of life we allow for a percentage of regrind to be used in new pallets.
Manufacturing efficiency using fewer environmental resources
Axios’ proprietary manufacturing process requires less equipment and energy to manufacture than comparable pallets produced by injection molding. Our process also benefits from increased reproducibility and reduced scrap or wasted material.
No chemical additives used
Axios pallets are naturally phytosanitary and contain no deca bromine/decaBDE. Considering that other pallets require repeated chemical treatment over their lifetime as part of routine maintenance, our composite pallet can have a significant impact on reducing the use of potentially harmful chemicals in the industry.
Less impact in use
High strength-to-weight performance and durability delivered by Axios bio-resin pallets significantly reduces transported weight which directly translates into reduction in fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions. When combined with integrated RFID software and our tracking and analytics platform, our solution enables logistics managers to gain further efficiencies in their logistics operations.
No waste
100 percent of Axios bio-resin pallets can be recycled. End-of-life assets can be simply ground (no need for complicated and costly recycling process) then reused as raw material for up to 15 percent of new product content. As Axios ramps up production of our pallets as well as other products, we expect to recycle a large majority, if not all of the earlier products into new Axios products. The remainder of the regrind can be recycled as raw material in other industrial or construction applications.
